Vance converted to Catholicism in 2019, and at least one of his other children is baptized, as he stated this year that his 8-year-old received First Holy Communion, as Zeale previously reported. The vice president and second lady are expecting their fourth child in July.

Vance’s wife Usha comes from a Hindu background, but at a TPUSA event this year he said that she often attends Mass with him and that they are raising their children as Christians.

“She’s my best friend. We talk to each other about this. We decided to raise our kids Christian,” Vance said.

“Do I hope eventually that she is somehow moved by the same thing that I was moved in by church?” Vance said of his wife. “I honestly do wish that because I believe in the Christian Gospel. I hope eventually my wife comes to see it the same way.”
