Heartbeat International announced Jan. 7 that the organization’s pregnancy helpline, Option Line, assisted more than 1.3 million contacts in 2025, more than triple the number of people served in 2024.

Option Line responds to an average of 3,700 contacts daily, according to an emailed press release from Heartbeat International. People in need of guidance can contact the line through several means, including calls, texts, and live chats. Those in need of medical advice can connect with nurses, who “provide free, life-affirming health education and help callers understand their options while prioritizing their health and safety,” according to the release.

The service is confidential and offers “compassionate listening, accurate information, and seamless referrals to local pregnancy help organizations,” the release stated. The line is operational and available 24/7, every day of the year.

“Pregnancy doesn’t take a holiday or the night off, and neither do we,” Jor-El Godsey, president of Heartbeat International, said in the release. “This amazing milestone reflects the growing trust people place in Option Line and the unwavering commitment of pregnancy help organizations to meet women and families with compassion, dignity, and hope.”

The release explained that many of the people who contact the line are pregnant women in frightening and isolating situations. Option Line consultants often help women to access ultrasounds and other practical assistance, especially by connecting them with local crisis pregnancy centers.

“This achievement belongs to the entire pregnancy help movement,” Nafisa Kennedy, director of Option Line, said in the release. “Option Line exists to support, not replace, pregnancy help organizations by extending their reach and ensuring continuity of care at all hours.”

Heartbeat International says it is committed to strengthening Option Line’s capacity, training, and technology in 2026 to ensure all who reach out receive the support they need.
